Most patient undergoing Breast Reduction will be expected to return home the same day.

Tuberous breasts (or tubular breasts) are a result of a congenital abnormality of the breasts which can occur in both men and women (also see Hypoplasia), one breast or both. Whilst there are many different reasons for sagging breasts (weight changes, breastfeeding, breast size and gravity) a breast lift can help to restore a natural look, giving the patient balanced, perfectly proportioned breasts. The breast lift is a procedure performed under general anaesthetic that takes up to two hours to complete. During the surgery, the breast tissue is reshaped, excess skin is removed and the nipple is placed into the correct position. The breasts are reshaped to ensure that they are balanced and symmetrical.

Occasionally breast tissue and fat deposits in men can enlarge resulting in the appearance of male breasts. This is usually due to hormonal reasons (and very rarely due to male breast cancer) and in some cases this can happen for no apparent reason. Whatever the cause, the appearance of male breasts can negatively impact on self-esteem and self-confidence especially if the growth occurs during male adolescence. Although there is no medical treatment for reducing the enlargement of this breast tissue, Gynecomastia is a simple operation that can be performed under either general anaesthetic or sedation and usually takes less than an hour to perform.

Inverted Nipple

Nipple inversion - The nipple itself lies flat or inverts inwards towards the body rather than protruding in the normal way. This condition can occur from birth but in some cases, can develop later on in life. This is typically another swift and straightforward procedure that can be carried out under a local anaesthetic although different grades of inverted nipples require different complexities of surgery.
